About the Portal

What is the name of the Portal?

My NEBH Online

What is the Purpose of the Patient Portal?

This Patient Portal provides access to a summary of your health information during your inpatient stay at New England Baptist Hospital, but it does not replace your doctor. We hope the health information provided to you will help you work more closely with your health care providers in making decisions about your care. The information and online services we provide through this Patient Portal are not meant to replace the advice and care you receive from your doctor or other health care providers. The Patient Portal is not a substitute for appropriate and timely contact with your doctor or other health care provider. You should not stop or change any course of treatment ordered by your doctor before asking him or her. The information and means of communication provided through this Patient Portal are for non-emergent/non-urgent purposes only.

Who is eligible?

Currently, only patients 18 years or older that are admitted to NEBH as an inpatient are eligible to participate. Outpatients are not eligible at this time, but will be later this year.

My child (under 18 years of age) is a patient at NEBH, will they have a portal account?

No. The Patient Portal is not configured for pediatric use at this time.

Can you provide another person with access to my information? (e.g. spouse, adult child, grandchild, friend)

No. To protect your privacy, we will only setup an account on the patient portal for you as the patient.

Can I communicate with my doctor online?

At this time, My NEBH Online does not allow you to communicate directly with your physician using the messaging functions. This is a capability we hope to implement later this year. If you need to speak directly with your doctor or the office staff, please call them directly. In the event of an emergency, please dial 911 immediately.

Is My NEBH Online the same as the patient portal I used at another doctor’s office?

No. Many physician offices have their own patient portals that require a separate log-in and password. In some cases, you may be able to access results from the same tests in different portals but the portals are different.

Will any of my health information be sent to my personal email address?

No. We only use your personal email address to setup your initial account. The portal will send an email to your personal email anytime there is new information in the portal, but no private information will be sent in that email. Nor will we ever ask for private information from your personal email. If you have any concerns at any time about your account, please call the NEBH help Desk at 617-754-5300 Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Is my information secure?

Yes. We have implemented the latest technology and procedures to ensure the privacy of your information. NEBH will not sell or rent any personal information we receive through your use of this Patient Portal. This Patient Portal has security measures in place to help protect against the loss, misuse, or alteration of information under our control. These measures include encryption and use of a secured messaging service when we send your personal information electronically.

Registration

How can I sign up for the portal?

Provide the Patient Access representative with your email address. We will automatically create an account for you and email you the information to activate your account.

What if I do not want to use the portal?

You do not have to do anything. Simply delete the email you receive from the NEBH portal and your account will not be activated.

It has been several days and I still haven't received an email with my portal account.

Once your application is approved, we will send you two emails with instructions for completing the registration process. Some email systems block emails from unfamiliar senders. Please check your spam filter to see if these emails have been blocked.

To prevent this from happening in the future, you can add “Noreply@mynebhonline.nebh.org” and "MyNEBHOnLine@nebh.org" to your list of safe senders in your mail settings. If you would like assistance in adjusting these settings, or if you are unable to locate these two emails, you can call the NEBH Help Desk at 617-754-5300, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm.

About My Test Results

What test results will I be able to see?

My NEBH Online currently offers patients electronic access to their basic demographic information and the discharge summary after being an inpatient at NEBH. Your physician will review the results of all tests with you individually. Check back often as we will be adding lab and radiology results in the near future.

How long do I have to wait to get my test results?

Outpatient test results are not yet available in My NEBH Online.

How can I access older results?

My NEBH Online offers access to the discharge summary for any admission occurring from July 1, 2014 onward. If you need to request older New England Baptist Hospital records, please call NEBH Health Information Management at 617-754-5080.
